Moxies Cafe opens new location in downtown Tampa

Date:

Moxies Cafe makes one of my favorite sandwiches in the city of Tampa. The downtown staple announced it would move at the end of May. After just a short wait, its new location is now up and running at 302 W Kennedy Boulevard.

The owners made the following announcement at the close of the Tampa street location: “Over nine years ago our family started our journey with Moxies. Moxies has been located at 514 N Tampa St for about 17 years, we were on Kennedy Blvd before that. Surprisingly some customers that visited the Kennedy location still come in today! And even more surprising Jenny has been working for Moxies long enough to be at all 3 locations!”

Regulars won’t be too perturbed. The new location is just two blocks away from the old spot. Any trip to Moxies should begin with their expansive espresso bar. If you have a sweet tooth you should sip on the signature Macchiato. The drink is made with Gourmet White Chocolate, swirls of Gourmet Caramel, steamed milk, and espresso. It’s basically a dessert that will give you a quick energy boost.

Moxies provides plenty of vegan and gluten-free options

The slightly sweet Chai Tea Latte is a slightly sweet, and totally soothing delight. A huge smoothie selection is also available. I favor the banana mango smoothie, but the peanut butter and banana smoothie is close second.

Caramel banana walnut French toast is a must try indulgence if it’s your first time at Moxies. There’s also a long list of big breakfast sandwiches. There are plenty of vegan options, and gluten-free substitutions available.

My go-to sandwich is the Tampa Tornado. It’s a powerful storm of local flavor. Bite into a cyclone of turkey breast, ham, roast beef, hickory smoked bacon, and provolone cheese all served on hot and crunchy inside Cuban bread. You can view a full menu on Moxies website.
