Hot chicken and corn ribs, you love to see it. The spicy, crispy pairing is the main event at the new Crossroads Hot Chicken restaurant at 10284 Causeway Blvd in Tampa. It shares a plaza with Canopy Road Cafe, Kiwami Sushi, Strandhill Public House, and Lorita’s Authentic Mexican Cafe.
So what exactly is a corn rib? We weren’t sure either. Corn ribs are essentially strips of corn on the cob, oven-baked full of spices to have an aromatic taste. Crossroad serves their corn ribs or corn riblets in their signature tangy white BBQ sauce. The ultra popular side is the perfect balance for the seriously hot chicken Crossroads is slinging.
Two additional signature sauces include Hot Cross and Back Down. Hot Cross is a Honey Garlic Chili sauce that will amp up any of Crossroad’s baskets, increase the heat, and add a touch of sweet. Back Down is inspired by traditional ranch, adding flavor and cooling down the heat of the meal.
Since opening, Hot Cross has received perfect 5-star reviews. One reviewer even claimed it was the best fried chicken they’d ever had. Visitors should note that the spice level at this restaurant is high, so if your taste buds are a bit timid we recommend you go with “mild” when you dine here.
It’s a quaint space with compact menu, and that ensures that every basket fried chicken basket on the menu is given the proper TLC.
